Abigail Hayden Interiors & Design is a professional design firm committed to providing each client with the space they can feel comfortable in. Some have been known to say Abigail's "SuperPower" is her ability to bring out each clients personality in Interior Spaces. She has the ability to connect with her clients through design and the end result is always a win! Whether it's designing a new office or a bathroom, she listens to each client in order to fully understand what they need, whether it is comfort, functionality, or a combination of both.

About Abigail
Abigail Hayden Skwiat is the owner and principal designer at Abigail Hayden Interiors & Design, located in Michigan City, Indiana.
She began her love for Interior Design at a young age, spending weekends antiquing with her mother along the coast of Lake Michigan or endlessly rearranging and repainting her bedroom. She attended Purdue University for Interior Design, and has worked in the design industry ever since.
With over 23 years experience in residential interiors, she has worked in the Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit and, recently, made it back home to the South Shore of Lake Michigan. She loves working with her clients to create beautiful, colorful, and cohesive interiors.

Initial Design Consultation
$499
Kick off your design project with a two-hour consultation with Abigail! Every project with AHID begins this way, big or small. Abigail with walk thru your entire space and discuss as much as you would like in the 2 hour time period. While she is there, she will get to know you while beginning to determine how you use the space, your design style and your specific needs. She will also give as many recommendations as she can on the spot. For some clients, this is all they need but for larger projects this is just the beginning. Afterwards, Abigail will send you a detailed recap of your consultation, plus paint, fabric and wallpaper swatches to execute her ideas.
Full Service Interior Design
$150/hr
After your Initial Design Consultation, Abigail works on an hourly basis. You can purchase Design Time in 2-5 hour time blocks.
About The Studio
A Talented Designer Who Make Dreams a Reality
Abigail Hayden Interiors and Design is located in the Historic First Merchants Bank Building on the 4th floor. The studio space has wonderful natural light allowing inspiration to flow as we work on client spaces. We have room for multiple fabric and wallpaper lines along with rug, custom furniture and lighting.
What we create is born from a collaboration with each client, which is why we include our clients in each step of the process to ensure that our work is exactly what they had in mind. The end result is an inspiring space that promotes well-being. Want to transform your space? Give us a call.

Gull Lake Cottage
Big Design in a small space
This 1940's cottage has been a labor of love for Abigail and her husband, Nick since they moved to Gull Lake 8 years ago. They have transformed the cottage room by room using a team of contractors mixed with some sweat equity. Many of the lessons learned from this remodel have helped Abigail gain more insight into what each of her client faces as they embark on a remodeling project.
North End Guest House Refresh
Furniture update needed in this family gathering space
Abigail worked with the client to remove the dated and worn old furniture and replace it with her custom private label line. The new look updates the space for the next generation of visitors to Gull Lake. The finishes and fabrics we chose will stand up to the durabilty of wet bathing suits and feet on the coffee table for a relaxed way of living.....after all they are here to vacation!
Littlefield Road
A Modern Update after a fire restoration
These clients came to AHID after a chimney fire had destroyed most of their second level and all of their furniture. The home was remodeled back to its original square footage with some updates on the Master Suite and Guest Quarters. This project combined the very traditional taste of one spouse with the more modern transitional taste of the other to reflect both of their personalities. They ordered an entire home full of AHID private label furniture which turned out exquisite in the end!
Glenwood Historic Four Square
Modernizing a piece of History in Westnedge Hill
Abigail worked with the clients to bring a modern twist to this 1915 Foursquare in the heart of Westnedge Hill. The wood work had been lovingly restored and the clients weren't too sure the oak could be toned down but....Success! It now fits the family who lives there and the history of the home is still preserved.
Gull Lake Channel
Updated Open Concept Floor Plan for a busy family
This busy family purchased this very Traditional open concept walk out ranch that needed a more Transitional approach to design. The clients have young kids but also love to entertain. The space had to be durable for family life but also appropriate for the dinner parties they love to throw.
